Tattoos for Girls Aren't Always Girly Any More

by Tim Croy

No matter whether you're conservative or liberal, you've probably heard about feminist thinking. Many women are starting to challenge roles that were once only for men. A surprising place this is happening is in the tattoo parlor, where tattoos for girls are rapidly changing.

Many movies, pictures, magazine advertisements, and television shows display females who have tattoos. Usually, these tattoos can be found on their lower backs, ankles, or hips. No question about it, the women who wear these look sexy. Most often, these designs feature butterflies, flowers, and similar designs.

Each of these designs and body locations is popular for tattoos, for a logical reason. Tattoos located here are sexy, attractive to men, and the women wearing them aren't going to get tired of looking at them. For most ladies, this style of tattoo art is perfect. Many of these females have a feminine personality, and these tattoos are not so prominent that they will attract undue amounts of attention.

Those considering something a little bit more unique in their tattoo, however, need to get creative. Consider your favorite pastimes. Perhaps you really enjoy sports, and want to work something related into your design. Your favorite quote could become the center of a design as well. If you want these designs to look more feminine, you can always have them embellished with ornate flowers or vines.

Just being a girl does not require you to get the kind of tattoo that the majority of people think girls ought to get. If your arms are one of your best features and you want to show them off, consider getting your tattoo there. If you really like your legs and want to have people looking at them often, sign up for a leg tattoo! Anywhere on your body is a good place to get a tattoo.

If you're stuck in a mode of indecision, though, you might need a way to jump-start your creativity. Looking at other examples of tattoos is a good way to do this. Try talking to friends and co-workers who have tattoos, and ask them where they got their ideas. You can also try looking online, or visiting your local tattoo parlor to get some inspiration.

You can also try some less conventional methods. What's your favorite movie? Watch it again, and you might find the perfect idea. Do you have a favorite song, or a favorite band? Maybe one of their lyrics is right for you.

The most exciting part of getting a tattoo is that YOU are in charge. YOU choose the design. YOU pick the location. If you want a girly tattoo, get a girly tattoo, but remember that tattoos for girls don't always have to be girly any more.
